During the Depression in 1932, Elmer Krueger, an Indianapolis industrial engineer, took an idea, $250 of borrowed capital and founded Paper Art Company in his basement. On May 28, 1935, the Dionne quintuplets celebrated their first birthday at a table set with Paper Art products. Paper Art soon became “a complete party supplier”, adding holiday decorations, party favors, centerpieces, s and hats, plastic cups and flatware. Converting, Inc. enters the party goods market with special occasion tissue and plastic table covers. Over the years, acquisitions of quality companies and a merger in 2007 between Creative Expressions and Converting, Inc. partnered to form Creative Converting.
