We pay fair prices for really good tea from farms in Africa and India, to make a lovely blend that's big on flavour, seriously refreshing and kind to the people who grow it. Our family business was founded in 1886 in Harrogate, one of the nicest towns in Yorkshire (though we might be a bit biased)! We’re still family owned today and we work hard to stay true to our love of fairness, flavour and quality. We work extremely hard to build long-lasting relationships with the people who grow our tea. We pay sustainable prices and a premium for quality, we regularly visit the farms and co-operatives we buy from and we invest in their communities and their environment to help ensure both are thriving and resilient. Water that has already been boiled will have lost oxygen and will give a flat or lifeless cuppa. • Warm the pot. • Use one teaspoonful of tea per person and one for the pot-or one teabag per person and none for the pot. (One Yorkshire tea bag will make two cups of tea). Always separate the tea bags so they can infuse freely. • Pour on boiling water and leave to brew for four to six minutes to draw out all the flavour of the tea. • Stir, pour and add milk or lemon according to taste and enjoy. • Keep your tea in an airtight container away from strong odours and light.
