This has to be one of the easiest and most rewarding Perennials available producing beautiful flowered, long spurred blooms in a multitude of colours and combinations. McKanas Giant is very happy in a sunny to partially shaded location. Provide it with a humus rich, slightly ic soil and you will be rewarded with an abundance of blooms in late spring and early summer. Excellent as a cut flower. Height 75cm. Aquilegias will readily re-seed and can be sown direct to borders or in wild / natural grass areas. Feeding is unnecessary unless the soil is exceptionally poor. An aquilegia should not need staking, but an overfed will flop.
