T-2000X Hot Melt Seam Sealing Tape - Nylon 66 Tricot Backer. Width: 22mm. All colours available, 28mm Dark Grey. Note tape colours are not bold (see colour chart). T-2000X is the market leading seam sealing tape used by major manufacturers around the world for the manufacture of 3 layer waterproof garments, we have successfully supplied our products to this market since 1985. This sealing tape gives excellent results on a wide variety of 3 layer waterproof breathable coated fabrics/textiles (PU & PTFE laminated - Compatible with Goretex and virtually all brands). It features a specially developed hot melt adhesive with excellent water flow properties for easy application and high performance. Application Instructions: For smaller production runs, repairs and software updates the tape can be applied using a heat press or your household iron. In this case the temperature must be set to Medium/Medium Hot, the dwell time is important and this can only be determined by experimentation - suggest in the region of 6-10 seconds with pressure applied. Ideally for the first T-2000X tape, scrape it down to a small piece of fabric to test adhesion strength; after test application and time to cool and then peeling off the tape you should feel a strong resistance. For a good seal the temperature must be reached warm enough for the adhesive/molten to flow and pressure must be applied across the full width of the tape. Please note that the T-2000X tape is not bold in colour. This is for technical/performance reasons - the nylon backer carrying the colour must be thin and open weave (so that the tape adheres to the cross over points) and thus the white adhesive film through which this is given an extremely light shadow look.
