Developmental How did you come up with the idea for this product? Soon after the iPad launched, it was clear that s were going to be a very popular toy in children’s toy box. But decades of research say that physical play is a really important part of early childhood development. At Tiggly, we saw an rtunity to bring physical play and s together in a unified physical-meets-digital experience. We started from classic toys and learning materials: the shape sorter, Cuisenaire rods, and alphabet fridge magnets, and we asked what would the 21st century version of these products be? We ended up with Tiggly Shapes, Tiggly Maths and Tiggly Words. What makes your product special? Our brains and hands are connected: we think and understand the world with our hands. This is particularly true for young children and has driven the popularity of the Montessori method.
