As a Natural Cotton Product, Prism Backdrops are a Sustainable and Fully Biodegradable option compared to most backdrops made from Polyester. Polyester is used in most backdrops because it is less expensive and reduces s. Prism backdrops are also made from 150gsm cotton versus industry standard 120gsm cotton. The use of thicker cotton allows for one side of the backdrop to be Flocked creating a soft fuzzy texture. Flocking is a significant cost increase to the product and also increases the pilling affect when washing, but the Flocked side reflects very little light and can lead to deeper, richer colors in photography. We are unaware of any Polyester backdrops which offer a flocked side.
